Primary care is the foundation of all your medical care, from preventive care to treating illnesses and injuries. At AVC Med, with an office in Peoria, Arizona, the patient-oriented medical specialists offer comprehensive primary care to individuals across the state. They’ll come to your home with house calls, visit medical facilities, or conduct primary care online through telemedicine. What is primary care?

Primary care is the starting point for virtually all medical care. You’ll see your primary care provider for medical exams, support, and guidance when you have any medical needs. 

(Currently we only focus on the elderly. Medically we can only see patients 18 years and above)

What does primary care consist of? 

AVC Med personalizes primary care for your personal needs. In general, primary care covers categories, including: 

Routine exams

Everyone needs routine medical exams once a year. Annual exams assess your general health and monitor any long-term conditions you may have. 

In addition, annual exams are the best time to get vaccinations, such as the flu shot. If you take any medications, your provider can renew your prescription during routine exams.

Illness and injury treatment

You can rely upon the primary care providers at AVC Med for compassionate care if you experience a non–life-threatening illness or injury. 

The many issues the experienced providers regularly handle include fevers, earaches, rashes, cough, sore throat, infections, minor burns, and lacerations.  

Preventive care

Preventive care involves health screenings, vaccinations, lifestyle guidance, and other types of proactive care that help you prevent disease. Many severe and life-threatening diseases are preventable, and that’s the focus of preventive care. 

You can avoid serious health issues with proper preventive care, including type 2 diabetes, high cholesterol, heart disease, and high blood pressure. 

Chronic care management (CCM)

CCM is a program for people with two or more chronic health conditions. Many conditions fall into this category, but the most common are diabetes, asthma, high cholesterol, cancer, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). 

CCM gives you regular access to your primary care provider, allowing you to manage your conditions better and stay on a path to optimal health.

AVC Med emphasizes convenience, so they meet you wherever it works for you. Many patients schedule house calls, where a provider comes directly to their home. 

Telemedicine is another convenient option for seeing your medical care provider through video conferencing.
